Hey SMFNew support forums, I'm here today to teach you how to add an advanced chatbox to your SMFNew Forums.
Step 1) First you must visit this (www.freeshoutbox.net) website and create your own free shoutbox! Then scroll down and create a shoutbox name and password. Remember both of these inputs as you will need them later for editing your shoutbox.
Step 2) Login with your created shoutbox name and then at top you will see six pages, they are "Get the code", "IP Banning", "Users", "Permissions", "Settings" and "Support Forums". Use all of these pages as they can really help you with your new shoutbox. At the bottom of this post you can find out what all of these pages do. Use these pages to edit your shoutbox. You can even select a brand new theme!
Step 3) Go to your administrative control panel and click on the boards link under "Forum". Then click "Create new category" at the top of the page. Create a category called Shoutbox, then place a board in this category called Shoutbox, or whatever floats your boat.
Step 4) Go to the "Get the code" page at the top of the page where you first edited your shoutbox and then grab the code for your shoutbox, then go back to the board you made called "Shoutbox" under the "Shoutbox" category and place the code in the board info.
Step 5) Give your users a nice set of rules for the shoutbox.
Your all finished!
Here are the page info's that I promised.
Get the code: Where you can get the code for your shoutbox!
IP Banning: Where you can ip ban users from your shoutbox if they're acting up or breaking the rules.
Users: Where you can manage the users of your shoutbox.
Permissions: Where you can edit the permissions for certain groups in your chatbox.
Settings: Where the big editing takes place, the theme, the name, the boxes on your shoutbox and all that other jazz.
Support forum: Where you can ask for help with your shoutbox, their members are always glad to give out help!
