View Full Version : I want my PC running faster, please help
Hi,
got a dell optiplex, i need it to run faster.
i have ben told to degragment, clean up and get a new PC!:confused:
Any ideas, i have been told of overclocking but he said it can really crap up ur pc.
anyway to just, make it run faster?:confused:
in flight sim it runs at 12 FPS"! it needs to be 20+
any help is appreciated.

For a start don't over clock your comp, and 2nd you can defrag your comp it works, or maybe just delete some really big files/applications you dont need that will speed it up. Or your could just change the settings on your flight sim. I mean just turn down the graphics etc. That will help.

Whats the reason i shuoldnt overclock my PC cos i know about 3 ppl who have and no problems.
Ill defrag it later and im getting anew grafics card soon, will that help it or not?
one of these (might not spell it right) niveda geforce ones, theyre meant to be really good and u can change the Anti aliaing settings to get rid of jagged edges etc.

It's probably because you have too much installed on your computer. Uninstalling things wont work in most cases. If i was you, i would backup all my files and wipe your computer clean and re-install programs which you really need. Not programs for the sake of it.
ive just had it wiped last month! lol:D

Maybe your computer hasn't got the right specifications for the flight sim? How old is your comp?
i just got it half a year ago!

Oh ok lol well dont overclock your pc because it is nearlry new lmao if it was old i would of said yes. Also you should of checked the specifications of your comp before installing that flight sim on there.
so what can i do? i defragmanted it, that didnt help 1 bit, ill get a new PC if i have to, i dint know y i got this one, its absol rubbish

Lol i wouldnt get a new pc just to play a flight sim. I find it to be a waste of money just for a game no offence.
i am doing ANYTHINg to get this "game" to work, ill take it to a PC c wat they say.
Overclocking, new PC or wtahever, i dont care!
I want it to run faster!

Erm ok have fun with that then but its a waste of time.
so u tell me how im meant to land a plane if the framerate is 12FPS and by the time i pull back i stall, then i push forwaod, then i crash!:mad:

1. Buy more RAM
2. Buy a new CPU
3. Overclock your CPU
All i can think of...;)

If you read the link i gave you, you would see that most people buy old computers to over clock if your comp is old go ahead with it.

michael you have to get rid of a few files and if there is any programs that you never use any more uninstall them thats what i do:D;)
i havent got anything on it, i said above, just had it wiped, aint even got word, excel etc on it!
It cud be empty and still wunt run fast!
It was £250 which is cheap for the kind of PC i need, i need a £600+ one!
But my mum wont get me one! paperround dont get alot of pay, i aint waitng 4 years!
Im getting one for my birthday instead of piloting a plane:(

If your computer was once good enough to run it, then it still maybe is. You just have to delete some files, free up some space, defrag/disk clean up.
i did watch it, did u notice the 4 *'s;)
ok
my old PC ran it fine but them went funny and its at the dump now!
...plus i did defrag, didnt make any dif!

But can you run them at solid 25fps?
And can you run FSX so it is flyable? :p
to go back to your original point maybe you should backup your files and programs and re-format your HHD and/or add some RAM it should do the trick, i re-format regularly to keep my pc clean of any viruses, spyware, bugs, old files, its very good for a througher clean out
