Hey i've been wondering how do you host all these forums for these people? to you gain any profit?

and what do you need to give away free forum hosting ??

First of all, you need servers. Servers are the basic, you need them. After, you can either buy a license or get a free software. Lots of things apply after.

And for the profit, I can tell you that phpBBnew is not millionaire, but the advertisements can generate some $$.
